Case Study

The Problem

A large Hi-Tech Company wanted to implement TeamSite and take advantage of a number of its capabilities ranging from core functionalities like site level versioning,  document level security, templating, and workflows to more complex features like  Metadata management and database integration. The client also wanted to utilize TeamSite to manage  dynamic content.

Our Solution

The implementation of Interwoven TeamSite for the client consisted of the creation of customized templates and workflows to enable subject experts throughout the organization to contribute and manage the content of the public website.  A dynamic workflow was developed to capture metadata and deploy it to the database and a test area was provided  within TeamSite to test all the dynamic  content. The routing of the content was entirely managed using workflows.

TechAspect performed the following activities:

    Installed TeamSite servers and integrated it with the company LDAP
     authentication system.

   Designed the branching strategy and created branches and workareas.

   Analyzed the website of the company and designed the templates to be built –       taking inputs from the business users.

   Evaluated the business processes of the company for content creation and        integrated them with the deployment requirements.

   Designed and developed workflows based on the business processes and        deployment requirements of file and database content

   Setup Metadata and integrated it with database using DataDeploy and Workflow.

   Created custom user interfaces and content creation tools to meet the specific        needs of the client for faster content generation.

The Outcome

The TeamSite implementation was completed on the development environment and moved to the staging environment in phases for system testing and the eventual move to production.

TechAspect’s knowledge of the technologies and software used by the client  helped to bring out a tighter integration and less manual work to the users after the go-live.  

Importantly, TechAspect helped the client realize that there is no need to maintain a separate server for staging and testing the content. This reduced the licensing, implementation and maintenance costs of the client considerably.

TechAspect’s interaction with the client development team enabled those individuals to gain an understanding of how the solutions were developed and implemented, thereby enhancing the client’s ability to effectively manage the solution for maximum ROI.
